dad is interested in a truck at auction, and it is a 1999 K2500HD ECLB with flatbed. it is 6.5L 5spd 4wd.

Is there any disadvantages to this model year in particular? any advantages?

Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

Standard transmissions where bad that year. I have an automatic, though, that I'll be willing to part with to help him out.

Why can't auction company's get close to right? :) The truck turned out to be a 1989 K2500LD 6.2L 4spd. In their defense the description never said HD (we were just hoping!) and it also said 4spd manual, so we were hoping it would be 4spd with OD. (5spd)

and it went a tad high, otherwise we would have had a tough ol' low powered farm truck!

thanks for the responses though!
