pros/cons to 99 model 6.5L K2500HD

dad is interested in a truck at auction, and it is a 1999 K2500HD ECLB with flatbed. it is 6.5L 5spd 4wd.

Is there any disadvantages to this model year in particular? any advantages?

Well one advantage is it has the good cooling system on it.

Yeah, as good as it gets there bud, upgraded cooling, much more opened exhaust factory than the older years....

Do a vin check to see WHEN the IP was replaced last

The IP should have a warranty on it till the end of this year.

Standard transmissions where bad that year. I have an automatic, though, that I'll be willing to part with to help him out.:thumbsup:

I think it was just a jest at an attempt to unload some automatic tranny he has kickin around

Why can't auction company's get close to right? The truck turned out to be a 1989 K2500LD 6.2L 4spd. In their defense the description never said HD (we were just hoping!) and it also said 4spd manual, so we were hoping it would be 4spd with OD. (5spd)

and it went a tad high, otherwise we would have had a tough ol' low powered farm truck!
