OK I can't find the thread on this that i know is here somewhere. I was having a discussion on another forum (HML Hummer mailing list) about the different pre chambers and applications. I need some clarification on the different precups and associated part numbers.
In the hummer world which i expect is no too different we have 4 part numbers for precups. There is no indication as to the markings on the precups in that regard. 2 of those numbers apply to NA trucks and include a standard and a oversize part nuber and the same applies to turbo trucks with different part numbers of course.
Idealy i wanted to find out what is in my truck without opening her up and understand more the differences between standard and oversize. One fellow mentioned he had never seen oversized precups on an engine.
My Turbo engine was manufactured in August 29 1996 as per the H296 casting number on the bell. I believe it is a 506 casting. What precups do i have and what markings would be on them?? Pics would be cool too!!
