HELLO ALL,

I have what may be another stupid question, My PPE is due in today and I will probably hook it up tonight. The question is that before you hook the programmer up to the OBD port, you are instructed to pull the INFO fuse and the RADIO fuse. Do you have to do this every time you hook the programmer up to the OBD? ...... Can any body shed light on this question?

I think I will start programing on the Highest 225HP setting and work my way backwards if I think the 225 setting is to aggressive for the transmission.:pound:

It depends if you want to take the risk. I personally have never removed the fuses. I make sure the radio, air, electronics, etc. is all turned OFF.

You shouldn't have anything to worry about. You'll be in heaven tonight with that extra power. Just give that Allison time to learn..:)

im with him ^. I just turn the power to everything off and set the parking brake. The 225hp setting is pretty rough man. I put it on there for one day just to see what it was like and i quickly turned it back down

uhh your supposed to do that??

Im assuming your supposed to for EFI Live too.

Huh maybe that explains why my CDX doesnt work sometimes after flashing in a tune.

oops.

the big tune WILL be too much. Load in a small tune aroun 100hp and give the trans time to learn it. Then you will ba able to have some fun.

Thanks guys for all the feedback. I will get back to you after I load the tune and some test driving.:eyebrows:

PPE Installation???

Well I tried to get the PPE installed, but nothing happened when I plugged it into the only Port I could see by the park brake release. I pulled the two fuses, the RDO AND INFO fuses, plugged it in and turned the ignition to the on position, nothing no display on the PPE. Whats up?? Is there more than one port located under the dash that I could plug into?? I guess i will be calleng tech support!! I thought this was supposed to be very simple!!

it is the obd port right by the parking brake release. You cant miss it. Make sure all of your cables are firmly inserted on both ends. U might want to try and plug those fuses back in also. I never pulled mine out when installing a tune

Seems your not getting any power to the port. I think the cig lighter fuse powers that port. Check it and make sure it is still good.

sounds like now power to the OBDII port. Its the only port under there that you can plug it into.

try using a 12v teter to see if there is power to it.

Yep, the cig fuse was blown. I repalced it and proceeded to load the tune. I only loaded the 160 hp tune, huge difference from stock tune. If the truck did not de-fuel, it would be a mean!! So far I am impressed with the PPE which is the only performance mod so far. If I just had a stong tranny that would hold up to the power, no defueling!! Thanks to all at dh for all the advice....Hmm if the 160hp tune is good wouldnt the 225 hp setting be better!?!:eyebrows:
