I keep getting a 1093 and been looking at the PPE release valve shim kit. It seems cheaper than the fuel pump or things like that right. I have some concerns tho. Will this end up making my already low mpg worse better or unchanged? Will it do anything with the winter temps in NY as far no warm fuel going back to tank? Does anyone think it works for us or against us?

The shim will help with that 1093 code. I did not notice any change at all in mpgs when I went with one, and I installed a lift pump at the same time. I run additives that prevent gelling in the winter.

the relief valve does nothing to help or hurt milage nor prevent fuel issues in cold temps. it is strictly an emergency release. shiming it just tunes the spring to prevent it opening under full pressure and setting the 1093 code. i would strongly recommend the bottle test before doing the mod. it is kinda pia mod and may not be the cause of your coding.

i only get it on level 4 n 5 under heavy throttle for a distance. i have actually ran the filter dry and had to get out and prime it. It only comes on when i really quickly let off the pedal fast and coast.
