Hey all. My power steering line started leaking a bit a while back and now it's gone crazy! It's the line on the left side of the hydroboost that goes to the pump. Anyone ever replace theirs? I need to do this tomorrow and am looking for a tip or two to save time and hassle. I'm sure I'll figure it out, but tips are always usefull. Thanks!

That's the pressure line Gerald? If so then I definitely would go with an OEM replacement. If you're talking about the return then any good hydraulic rated hose will do.

I made some stainless braid hoses for mine, reused the hard lines and used compression fittings to attach them to new lines.

Where is it leaking? There is an O-ring that seals or helps seal the line at the Hydro boost. Are you sure its not the weep hole underneath that is leaking? OR is it the joint of rubber to steel line?

Job is done. Not as bad as I thought. I ran out of time as I wanted to wash the oil from the undercarriage. I'll do it later haha. Yeah the flush will be another day. I'm busy and need the truck all the time.

Oil is better on the frame and appears to more or less automatically apply itself and thicken with dirt. I *still* have over a 1/4" coating in places from the leaking front crank seal due to bad bearings from a engine long ago removed and scrapped.

No I vote it's "long term protection" although I bet the 1/4" of stuff formally known as oil is long overdue for a change at 1/4 mil miles and 23 years...

Of course the only clean spot is where the oil filter change drips on the frame and driveshaft.

Even the rear shocks, formally white, are black now.
