Need to upgrade my lift pump, the Napa Carter pump isn't liking these cold temperatures and isn't kicking on with any remote kind of power. Figured the best bet would be to go with an FRC-10. I am not sold on on-the-frame spin on filters yet, due to common issues with systems like FASS and AirDog gelling up. For the time being, I am looking at ordering an FRC-10 from Leroy, and would like to see how you all installed the pump.

Raptor 100 on my truck. frame rail mounted, below driver seat. No issues with gelling even down to -35 C. Solid 12 PSI at all times and all throttle positions. I run a separate 30 micron pre-filter back by the rear wheel.

Didn't go with the Airdog "all in one" unit because I didn't like their (at the time) proprietary filter design.

I really like the raptor (not cheap though) and the customer service is outstanding. Mine is also "old" enough to have the lifetime warranty. Pureflow already honored that once and told me the lifetime warranty is still intact on the replacement pump. I didn't pay one thin dime other than the overnight shipping because I needed it right away. They were going to eat the regular shipping charges. Can't beat that IMHO....:)

Does make me wonder what thier profit margin is on the original sale though....o_O

Well just submitted my order for an FRC-10 and fitting kit from Leroy, hope to have it installed next weekend.

I may add a filter at a later date. For now, the tank sock still remains. After removing the factory style lift pump, I got about half a gallon or more of fuel out of the tank-side line that just siphoned off. I think if the sock was plugged, it would have broken suction. If I add a filter, I'll just make a new bracket using the same mount holes in the frame. These four holes were there from the factory, so I had no drilling for this bracket installation.

I went to put on the bracket, but hadn't painted it yet. The only paint I had sitting around was this bright yellow. I guess it will, at least, not rust and it's easy to find.:shame:

I had to lengthen the wire by a couple feet due to the location. I mounted it behind the torsion bar mount so it would be shielded from heavy slush or road debris (although I don't do much in the salt belt, here in Ohio)

For what it's worth, these are FRB-5 photos but the principle is the same.

Picture I purloined from Leroy's old web page.

I've got an FRC-10 from Leroy on the truck, but related question - is the FRC-10 flow on fail?

Glad to hear, since I'm still running through the OPS ......
