Wanted to see if anyone has had this issue or similar problem like this. Tonight me and a friend had to cruise over to the local Menard. On the way home I got on it some, cause well I can when I went get onto the highway. I looked down at my speedometer and it is saying I'm doing 70 mph at 2300RPM. On the way down to there I was at my normal 70 MPH at 2K. I've had this happen a couple times before. I guess my question is has anyone had issues with the Pred forgetting the setting or loosing it? I had to take the truck into the dealer so I returned it to stock but when I reinstalled it I made sure to recalibrate the speedo back to where I had it before I took it in.

I ran the Predator for a couple of years, but never had that problem.

There are two simple things might cause the condition that you describe, though. One is running when it is cold, and your Allison has not yet warmed up. The RPMs will stay up at highway speed until the tranny temp is raised. The other is inadvertently holding the Tow/Haul button in and locking out the overdrive, thus keeping the tranny in 4th.

This is what I'm thinking. I just realized my truck did this not too long ago. Never payed attention before. You'll notice it more if your exhaust is louder than stock.

Both the trans and truck were fully warmed up at it was 60ish outside so I don't think that was it. I didn't see the trailer light up on the dash so I'm thinking that wasn't it either.

How many miles on the truck? Hopefully you don't have a bad gauge cluster like many gm trucks have. We had to replace one in our '04 work truck. I had some gauges act up the other day and talked to the dealer....said it was a $490 fix if it was the shorted gauge cluster problem!

Wow, nice low mile truck man. Thing must look brand new!

It could be the gauge cluster problem. They extended the warranty on those to 80k. If it gets worse...you'll know. Our work truck, when going down the highway the speedo would drop to 0, sometimes it would say 70 when we were going around 55.

Thanks. It's in pretty good shape except I noticed by the license plate on the rear bumper today it looks like some rust specs! It's good to know that the warranty on them is 80K though. I'll have to keep my eye out on it.
