Hi,
This is my first time posting here and have read a lot of good info and appreciate everyone who try's to help us noobs.
I see a lot of posts of peeps having problems with the PMD and I think I have a PMD problem.
My truck when hot sometimes will not start. I have opend the T valve and it has fuel pressure.
I have read post after post that the PMD is most likely is the problem.
BUT WAIT, Every post says that the PMD is blackand square and under the manifold.
MINE is mounted at the back of the engine and looks nothing like the pics of the pmd's people are having issues with.
My PMD is gray in color and has 2 12-10 gauge red wires and a plug on the top of it.
Can someone tell me where to get this item??? I have a part# that now of my local auto parts stores even list.
PMD # 2088520
My application
1993 Chevy 2500 PU
6.5 TD Auto.

Thanks and any help appreciated

1993 had the DB2 pump and shouldn't have a FSD. Ive heard that if you pour water over the IP when it wont start hot, and then it cranks it is something about a worn out IP. I'm sure someone else on here will know how to explain what I'm trying to say better.

Welcome!!!

As for PMD, there are 2 types/color. Black or Grey.
There are 2 types of Black: Stanadyne (this is the original) and DTech/Flight System/other brand (GM).
The grey should say Stanadyne on the surface.

PMD can be relocated anywhere including the back of engine, etc.
Best place is outside the hood.

If you can provide a pictures of the part you are asking, we can probably confirm if it is the PMD or not.

Unless someone added electronic injection the 93 would have a db2 mech. pump. Next time your truck won't start hot try pouring water on the IP, if it starts you need a rebuild.

I think what you are looking at is the glow plug controller.

Yes NVW, The more I search through the forums believe it is the glow plug controller. Found one online $60.00
