Hey guys/gals,

I just installed a new IP on my suburban yesterday. Took me all day because I am just a light duty mechanic, ie- oil changes and brakes.

Now, when I turn the key, I get NO wait to start, NO lift pump, and NO glow plug cycling.

Any suggestions? I checked the fuse box, and did not see anything blown (but it was 10 pm and I was very tired).

Thank you for your help.

Todd

I drove it to brother-in-laws shop, so everything working as it should till I worked on it.

Where is glow plug relay? I will double check all wiring.

Thanks,
Todd

Likely no SES or Service throttle on bulb check as well as the above. This indicates the ECM, computer, isn't working.
As said above look for the grounds by the trans dipstick bolt as you broke it or left it off. One is the ECM ground there.

You have to have the SES light during the bulb check to indicate the ECM is working/has power.

OK, I drove the suburban home today!!

Found out that I crushed the OPS wires together under the intake manifold causing a short. Repaired wires and replaced the OPS while I was in there.

Thank you all for your help/suggestions. Very special thank you to Turbine Doc for his help.

I need to have the IP timed just right. Runs pretty rough and uses a crazy amount of fuel. Going to check with local diesel repair shop to see if they can do it.

Thanks,
Todd
