i was talking to jerry my mechinest and i was wondering what the piston to bore clearance is supposed to be.
he said he generally goes by what it says on the box beacouse every pistion manufacturer has different specs.

also will going 30 thousands over change the compression any? it seems to me that is would

Piston to bore should be .0035-.0049 for 1-6 and .0040-.0054 for 7 & 8.
That being said, I contacted peninsular about their 18 : 1 pistons and they said .0032-.0033 for 1-6 and .0037-.0038 for 7&8. That seems pretty close from what I've read but maybe that is good for 18:1.Does anyone Know about this?

I just read on another post that Bill Heath says .005-.0055

Here's '94 factory manual specs & Mahle's (027010HA/11HA).
