Anybody been to Pigeon Forge TN? We are thinking about going over the kids spring break.
I'm curious of the better campgrounds to stay in.
Thanks

I was there last fall, but not with my camper. I did notice several campgrounds around there. We rented a cabin about 30 minutes away and we really enjoyed it. My wife wants to take the camper down this summer and stay a few days.

I'm there a couple time of the year. Really nice place, you'll enjoy it.

Can't help on campgrounds, I went the motel route... :D

Been awhile and can't remember the names. Comes down to do you want quiet a few blocks off the main drag or right in town on the trolley line. Some of the ones in town are walking distance to shopping, go karts etc. Trolley stops are all over if you do not want to drive. Look on rv.net. This question has been asked many times. Lots of answers too.

Thanks guys. I've been there one time when I was in 10th grade (22 years ago). I'm sure it has changed since then. I'll check out rv.net and see what they say. We are probably going with a couple other families and when we together we tend to stay up pretty late and have some fun. We have been threatened before because we were apparently having too much fun in the campground. . Just trying to find a layed back campground.

If anyone knows of some things to do there let me know what your experience was. Espacially any restaurants.

Thanks again

We were there over new years. We stayed in a cabin that was just up the hill from a campground called "Riversedge Campgrounds". It is on the Gatlinburg edge of Pigeon Forge. It is walking distance from alot of the shopping and on the end of town so if you want to go into Gatlinburg you don't have to fight all the pigeon Forge traffic. Looked like a nice place. One tip I may add is that if you can get there during the middle of the week. Friday through Sunday is a real traffic headache trying to get into or out of town.

Several campgrounds in that area. Personally I have never camped in Pigeon Forge, but I have camped several times at Cades Cove. If you get a chance drive up to Cades Cove and drive around the scenic loop. Its worth the trip If you like to see deer and other wildlife. I am sending you a link to Pigeon Forge. You will be able to search for campgrounds under accommodations.

if you go, you must MUST go to Cade's Cove.

Kids would love it, and you run a really good chance of seeing bears
