Okay Now I know Why I get stuck so often in the snow and mud...a broken G80

So I finally opened Up the pumpkin to see whats inside, and if I had a Eaton Locker. So after opening I went straight to the magnet and found some Metal Pieces stuck to it.... So I grabbed My flashlight and looked around. I heard they fail but thought it was spring related...not the gear on the shaft which is broke.
Its a 14 bolt 9 1/2 rear end...and the pics are the shaft twisted around....literaly.

Look ma no teeth!

Okay... I would like to fix this if it isn't gonna cost as much as one of this lockers. I've seen some right ups of how to remove the carrier from the pumpkin....is it as simple as that to swap this part out?

I don't really have a write up handy but that might be available in the DIY section. In any case the whole thing is gonna have to be totally disassembled and carefully cleaned of all the small metal particles. Are there any obvious gouges of deep scratches in the ring or pinion? If not then it probably would be cost effective to rebuild. I have not personally done one of those before so I might be off on it being worth rebuilding.

Well its got fresh oil and the truck is back on the street....so hopefully the magnet got most of the pieces.
I am going to chance the metal pieces for now, and just need to find info on fixing the broken piece.

Well i guess after reading some more I can even use a Powertrax locker becasue
I dont have an open face design without clutch packs. This is getting to be a pain in the ass fix.
