On the pass side there is a shield about the length of the starter that I beleive protets the glow wires and the other wires near the starter. When I was removing starter and crossover a year and a half ago it kind of fell out before I could ghet a look at howvto reinstall. Can anyone describe where it goes? I have a pic if needed. Thanks in advance. Its from a 97 p/u.

That shield is located above the starter and held in place by a bracket on a bell housing bolt on the rear and behind the little starter bracket on front.

Thank you, I remenber it falling out without intending to remove it. The other thing I'm wondering is, I'm installing a Trans temp guage and don't see anywhere obvious to install the sender. Do I have to weld a bung in the pan? By the way I'm doing all this work outside in the cold, cause the truck is in the ex GF driveway. Its a hostile situation and I thank you for saving me time.

There is a 1/8" npt plug on the drivers side near the top. You can't see it, you have to do it by feel. Follow the wires and feel around. It is a pressure test port.

Thanks NVW. I'm getting close to starting my long lost pickup. I got the upgraded glow harness installed today. Tomorrow, accessories andv cooling system and header panel ect. Then 4 inch exhaust. Waiting on crossover and ATT turbo. I bought a turbo off ebay and its chinese crap. I've got to much money and bad luck to chance it. Thanks again everybody. I imagine you guys in Canada snickering at me complaining about the cold.

I got that PIA thing in today and the starter reinstalled. I'm glad I did'nt decide I could live without it, cause I would be melting the nice new wires.

I'm curious what temperature, or what oil flow you might be reading here?

There's two more possible causes for global warming.... 1. the hostile situation and 2. you warming the driveway with your back side!!! lol

LOL. Someone "accidently" let the pitbull in the garage with me the other day. I found out about this when it latched onto my arm. The good news is, I had So many layers of clothes on from warming the earth(it didn't hurt much and no holes in my arm), I was able to to get velcro doggie in the house and shut the door on his head till he let go. I'm glad its not summer, and I'm almost done.

I know this isn't on topic, but that's the first time I've heard the term "velcro doggie". I almost choked when I read that. Good!!!

1993 is tapped there. Usually at 180 but will run 210 -220 when pulling. The 4L80E runs hot and will run hotter than the engine.

:puppy_dog_eyes: Yes, it it important to play with your dog on a regular basis! You may be spending too much time with your 6.5 and not enough time with your puppy dog...
