Everything is stock on my truck (well on the inside at least) and the speaker in my passenger door is a goner. I don't want to spend much, as I plan on getting dad's duramax in the next yr, but I need to do something.

1. How much would an OEM replacement speaker cost?

-or-

2. Are these speakers the ones I need to get?

I've read this thread, but I still would like to hear your advice as I've never touched the innards of my radio.

i have alpines and they are great. i have the sps-600. i would stay away from crutch field, i found that there prices are high by about 20 bucks on a lot of things and that is without shipping. i would look into a local guy and see if he will meet the crutch field price if he is a bit higher. also you only need to do the front doors i found. however after i did my speakers i needed to do more. i felt that i was not etting as much as i should out of the speakers so i got a new radio as well and am very happy.

if you are looking to just buy 1 OEM speaker let me knwo i have two and i am sure we could work out a deal and i could sell you one for a good price if you want. just send me a PM. good luck with the radio.

Thanks for the advice.. I'm really starting to think more towards the Alpines.. yes, I will check local before buying from crutchfield.. I think it's nice to do business locally if possible!

Ha funny this thread came up. My drivers side is shot. I was wondering the same thing about the stock speakers.

also look at the other thread of mine talking about speakers. listen to diesel dually about the foam cover. that was the case with mine but i wanted to upgrade.

I thought about just finding a wrecked truck or something like that and replace it. I don't need anything fancy.
