I had the crank sensor replaced on my truck about 4-5 months ago after I was experiencing prolonged cranking to start. Have not had any issues at all till today. I washed my truck, and washed the engine. Soaped and sprayed the top of the engine, intake manifold, ac pump, etc. Did not direct water down to the lower part of the engine. Started it up and drove it 5 miles to get fuel. No issues. Drove it 3 miles and got halfway home, was cruising at about 1300rpms, without me doing anything, rpms jumped to about 1600rpm momentarily, and then the engine sounded noticeably different. Almost like the the timing was retarded. Sounded like the engine was cold. CEL came on. Shut off the truck, waited a minute and started it back up, ran fine. Makes good power. CEL still on. Ran the code, P0335, crankshaft position sensor circuit A. Cleared the code and drove 5 miles home. Half hour later, started the engine to go work, idled for 2 mins, rpms jumped to 1100 for a second, CEL came back on and ran different again. Drove for about a mile and a half, nothing changed. Engine sounded noticeably louder, a lot more clackity clackity than usual. Shut the truck off, started it back up, ran fine. Drove 10 miles to work with no issues. Got into it and it ran like it was supposed to. I assume this is just some water in the wiring but I am still slightly concerned. Ideas?

Water in a connector can last a long time and give you trouble. Give it time. I once (foolishly) pressure washed an OBD1 system and it gave me fits for 4 or 5 days. I learned my lesson.

You might try disconnecting the sensor spraying out both ends with Electronic Cleaner that is 'quick drying.' Could shorten your intervals of frustration/heart in your mouth.
