I posted this in the exterior forum, but got no response.

To remove the rear flares, part of the interior needs to be removed by the wheel well, correct? I believe the two outermost of the four nuts are only accessible this way, but wanted to be sure before I take it apart. This is on a '94K1500 and they're OEM flares and I'm removing the one on the driver side.

I think you can get the a few of the lower ones, but for the higher ones on a pickup i know you have to reach around the fender wells on the inside. On the suburbans i think you have to take the interior apart over the fenderwell nd access it from the inside. Im not quite sure but others may know better....

What's the chance that they're captured nuts? Or, did you try it already and it just spun?

I've never taken mine off, but if it was me, I might give a dealer a shot. If you've got a friendly one near you, might be worth the time stop (or call) and ask 'em.

On pick-ups you just have to have long arms and teach from underneith. I did it by feel. Couldn't see with my arm in there up to the arm pit.

IIRC you do have to pull that interior panel to get the inside 4, the bottom ones are the same as on a pickup, easy as pie. I believe that interior panel is just one big piece so you might have a fun time wrestling around with it........

There appear to be two plugs inside the wheel well at the top and I think those are for the upper two nuts. There are certainly at least two or four to get to via removing the inner panels. I'll try to post photos when I'm in it.
