Searching the web I've been unsuccessful finding pictures and/or diagrams illustrating the inner workings of an optical encoder sensor. I want to see the condition of the disks and to learn of any precautions regarding disassembly and reassembly. The engine is a 1995 6.5L Turbo w/stanadyne IP. I believe the sensor is #33883. Thanks for any info you can share.
Kindest regards,
Bruce

Thanks for the reply, 3500GMC. I have Mr Halvorsen's photos in my favorites list and have my sensor disassembled that far. I presume the disks are below the T-40 torx bolt. If no one else responds I may have to do an exploritory;)
Kindest regards,
Bruce

We have a member (bison) here on TTS that tied into a DS4 for a 'light rebuild' there a while back. There is a thread on it floating around here somewhere.

Bless you, child, bless you! I tried to search everything "Bison" for years back and missed that one. That 5 page thread will keep me in study hall for a while. Thanks much for the post.
Kindest regards,
Bruce

Welcome Bruce:)

Thank you both. I'm honored to be welcomed to TTS OFC. You could call my remaining hairs gray but in my mind they're still blond;^)
