Based on our discussion in my other thread I probably need an IP. http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?32549-IP-or-PCM-issue

I have been looking around and found two. A local guy has his 'breakdown kit' for sale since he has sold the truck. It's a 'low mileage' IP, new lift pump, and new OPS for $250. He read me the model#: DS4381 5288J. I was already planning to buy a LP and OPS anyway.
The other one is a little further away. About 2.5 hours away is a guy who has a rebuild from Pensacola for the same price.
I am trying to decide which way to go. I would like new but I can't swing it.

Knowing more about the used one would help. I looked at the sticky and I didn't quite understand what I was looking at. Can someone help me out?
I pulled the following lines from the IP part number sticky with the first line being the closest match to what a local guy says he has for sale:
DS4831-5288 12558156 1997-98 LD & HD C/K, G, and P3 Truck & Van * DS4831-5459 Note 13
DS4831-5459 12561405 1999 LD & HD C/K, G, and P3 Truck & Van * DS4831-5521 Note 14
13 — (a) Inner Bearing Retainer/Thrust Washer; (b) Encoder Sensor; (c) T.P. Blade Spring; (d) Calibration
14 — (a) Stepper Motor and Stop; (b) Pump Mounted Driver

I missed the newer one. Picked up the used one last night. New lift pump and used IP for $200. I couldn't pass it up. Now I just have to figure out the best way to clean it before installing. It has been sitting for a while but it has a green tag on it telling me that it has been rebuilt supporting his 40k miles claim.

To clean I just capped off the injector line fittings and IP inlet and return and used some carb cleaner. I concentrated on the aluminium parts and avoid electronics and rubber.
