Good for you, DieselSlug. Suppose it turns out to be a bad vacuum solenoid? Oh, that would be rich. $40 bucks and you're back in business! That's what was wrong with the Tahoe when I bought it. Billowing black smoke, no power, and all that was wrong was an intermittent solenoid.

I am constantly amazed at these rigs. Imagine, back in 99 a fully-loaded Sub cost $40-50K++, and now, they're down to a couple thousand, and often times there is NOTHING major wrong with them. In fact, a delightful rig when properly conditioned.

I gotta tell you, I'm so steamed about the whole 'cash for clunkers' thing. Not only is it a stupid giveaway with OUR tax dollars, but they are destroying perfectly good vehicles. People NEED cars that are a couple grand, or a couple hundred. NOT everyone can afford a new vehicle, or even wants one. Yet, they are destroying the vehicles which are turned in. Yes, I know that the 6.5 F diesels don't even qualify, but I still think it is a very very poor use of tax dollars. National defense? Yes. Clunker cash? NO NO NO. No offense to anyone who took advantage of it, as there is no fault at taking a giveaway of someone else's money.

I know i hope i buy it!! Ive always wanted a burb... And if its the turbo i got one on the shelf!!! I dont want it to be a solenoid, i gave my last good one away!! LOL
 
If its sound I would stuff in a Turbomaster and a good exhaust system along with a Heath chip. The thing will really haul then.

Its alright, with as grumpy as she has been lately id be better off with the truck.... LOL
