Well I was using AVLubes however George has sadly passed on and the company has changed hands, they now no longer offer analysis with TBN. So looking to change any suggestions?

Cheers

Oil analyzers in Indiana...

Shoot Wrecker (the oil Geek) our Amsoil vendor here a PM and he'll hook you up...

Blackstone labratories will send you a sample kit for free. Just pay when you actually mail in your sample. Thats who I'm going to use once i fix my oil cooler lines...

same with me..been using blackstone for years for my boat.. very detailed, including recommendations for better lubrication according to oil contamination.. start a file with them and your engines history and reports are recorded for overall time based analysis so you can see if its getting better or worse..

very helpfull in the long run..

One suggestion is if you do it for determining extended oil interval, get the TBN test. This is included with Amsoil/OAI but extra cost with Blackstone.

If the objective is to determine if you have a head/gasket failure, coolant on oil, you don't need the TBN test.

Blackstone Labs does a very good job.

We do just as well, cheaper (DTR discount applies). My analysis kits include TBN, and prepaid postage via either UPS, or US Postal Service.

You can call and talk to a person who will walk you through your analysis results when you've received the results from Amsoil's Oil Analysis, provided by Oil Analyzers Inc. It includes the following:

Testing Package for Automotive/Light Truck (Engine Oil)

Spectrographic Analysis Reported in Parts Per Million (PPM)

Wear Metals:

Iron, Chromium, Lead, Copper, Aluminum, Nickel, Silver, Titanium

Contaminants:

Aluma/Silica (dirt), Potassium, Sodium, Water, Soot (Diesel), Solids (Gasoline)

Engine Oil Additives:

Boron, Magnesium, Calcium, Barium, Phosphorus, Zinc, Molybdenum

Physical Properties:

Viscosity @ 100⁰C cSt, Coolant Fuel %

Additional Tests (also included)

TBN (Base Number), Oxidation, Nitration, Graphical Analysis ( 3 or more consecutive tests)

Analysis Recommendations (Based on test results and condemning limits)

Wrecker's lab is who I used last time good service, good price, actually I had considered going back to Dino Oil Rotella, but thought of $$$ possibly being possibly being funneled back to rag head land, I have since decided to buy synthetic Amsoil even though it costs a little more.
