Hey people.....Long time no post.
Well like the title says....Last night I pull in to the gas station, pull up to the pump and unknowingly put the "gas nozzle" in the fuel tank and "Squeeze".....So I'm standing there and I smell gas and quickly say to myself, "NO WAY".....So I release the handle look at the pump and sure enough i'm pumping High Test (Thats premium, for you young guys).

So now i'm in panic mode....turns out I pumped 1.68 gallons of "gas" into a tank that had about a 1/4 of a tank of diesel......So I quickly scroll thru my phone to get the "Best advice" for the dilema I now found myself in....Guess who I called..."Turbine Doc" (Now who better to call with a question like that at 10:00pm?)....

So the directions I got were to take the the line off from the LP that feeds the IP...Plug the the "G" pin into a power source and let the LP pump the gas out of the tank without loosing your "Fuel thats already in the line, fuel manager, and IP.

So after the the tank was as empty as the LP would get it, I put in another 2 gallons of Diesel, pump that out with the LP also, button everything up and smack myself in the back of the coconut, for pulling such a bone head move.

Anyway just wanted to give you guys the skinny on what I did and how Tim/Turbine Doc came to the rescue from 250 miles away......Hope this helps someone who is ever in a similar situation.........Thanks Tim!

In all reality 1.7 gallons of gas probably wouldn't have hurt it if you had atleast 30 Gallons of diesel. In the old days Audi recommended mixing a small amount of gas with the Diesel during cold months.

older VW owners manual stated you were safe to dilute it alot. Friend of mine had a dealer dump 5 gals in his because of gelling

I would have just topped the tank with diesel and not even thought about it. I used gas more than once to thin the fuel in my olds diesels. I've seen semi's pull up to the gas pumps in a cold snap.

Sounds like a lot of work to me, I would've just filled it, maybe throw in a quart
extra of 2-cycle, and not worried about it - but you got peace of mind doing
it your way, that's what counts

I have not made the mistake yet. I came close acouple of times though. Once I was ready to squeeze the handle and the wife hollard out the window of the truck saying arn't you putting gas in there. I felt alittle awkward but I did thank here. Then on a trip once I just about squeezed the handle again and I caught myself.

A good friend of mine drive semi over the road. He carries 5 gallens of gas in the winter with him. He said when you feel it start to gell up you pull over and pour the 5 gallons of gas in it and away you go.

At any note this is a very good resource we have here and glad Tim came to the rescue.
