Well, being that I have always liked lights, I bought a set of OEM cablights for my 88. I've always debated putting them on there and deemed it probably wouldn't look right.... untill It was lifted. Now that it's lifted, what do you think?

No Cablights

With cablights (clear corners are now gone)

They are just sitting in that picture BTW. A little background: Both my parents tell me that they are the ugliest thing i could do to the truck, yet I like them and my friends do to. I can do whatever I want since it's my truck, however.

Ok, I've thought about it and thought about it. Cablights would look good on the 88...IF you put these on:

Past couple years the 88 has grown up, back when it was IFS those peasily little sport mirrors looked ok. Since the overall appearance of the truck has grown, the mirrors need to grow up too. Particularly when we're out at M4 or elsewhere, having the ability to fold them in in an instant would be nice.

The last pic you posted really puts it in perspective for me. Look how friggen disproportionate the mirrors look with the rest of the truck with cab lights.

remember I HAVE my OEM mirrors, but they are stainless ones, not black.

And yes, I've been thinking about swapping those out at well.

I'm bringing both my OEM stainless mirrors home and my manual black mirrors that I took off the 02.... Going to see if it's possible to throw those on there....

Well, the 02 mirrors need too much work to make them easily fit.

Here is a phone shot with the stainless mirrors on her.... I think they fit better now that it's lifted....

And just for fun, our GM parking lot. L-R: 79 Silverado, 75 Silverado, 02 Sierra HT, 88 Sierra SLE, 09 Sierra SLT

What light?! All I can see is behind me.....

 just for that Devin, I'll put the small mirrors back on. You and Brandon are such haters of the sport mirrors.

What I'm saying is they are much more proportional than they were when it was stock sized, now they don't seems so abnormally large like they used to. I still like the styling of the sport mirrors however.

And if anything, I like the stainless ones. If I can score a cheap set at the yard OR just try them on, I will try black ones. Won't be for a few weeks though, till after Brandon comes back.

I was just re-reading this, and would like to point out the last line about folding the mirrors in. Both the post mounted & folding 95+ style stick out about as far as the sport mirrors did, so not gaining anything there. :rolleyes5: You know i likes my sport mirrors devin. I should bolt them on your truck just to screw with you  oh the anger that would come of that. ):h

I'll leave the stainless ones on there awhile, I do think they will fit better with the cablights anyway....

& I quote: "Daaaamn those look good." "And proportional." <---Brandon

Leave it as is. Roll with it, it looks good. What does Matt think of it?

Ok, so build a 454 SS and put your little juju mirrors on IT. THAT would look better.

Matt said they looked fine, didn't seem to have a huge opinion either way but likes them.

And a 454SS will already have those mirrors on them, it's what they came with.

Ok, so I was thinking. BurningOil did the Dodge towing mirrors on his OBS, so why couldn't I use a set of regular dodge mirrors? I was thinking the 94-97 stainless ones. They are almost identical to my stainless mirrors except they are power. I don't think you could tell the difference unless you were specifically looking.

Like these.
