Since the front end damage was repaired, my code scanner no longer communicates with the truck. Thought it was the (pretty new) scanner but I tried the one at Advance in Co. Springs Saturday (same model Actron as mine) and same problem. I looked to see if a fuse might be obvious but don't really see one jumping out at me (who comes up with these acronyms anyway?).

It's probably a fuse...In my f-n-laws truck it was the cigarette lighter fuse that kept me from scanning his truck with EFI live...

AHA! Thanks Paul... I just so happened that the lighter fuse had blown on the trip down and I didn't replace it until today. I'll check it in a while. Would never have thought of that. Makes no sense that the lighter circuit would be involved...

That was it! Got a P0101. MAF-IAT fault. That's happened before in blizzard conditions when I don't have the winter front on. Didn't think I'd need it so left it at home. Oh well all is ok now.

Yeah, it's kinda funny because I mentioned it to the body shop manager earlier today when he called to ask how the trip went and if everything's ok (good service huh?), he said I should bring it in and he'll look into it. I said nah, don't worry about it, I'll find out from one of my tech buddies...):h
Called him back and he said, What the heck has the lighter fuse have to do with it?

did you figure out "why" you blew the fuse?

overloaded the circuit with too many gadgets?

From the lighter... It hangs up every so often and needs a little graphite treatment. I still smoke... for now... tough to teach this old dog any new tricks but obunga's new taxes are really starting to make me think!
