In addition to the vibration, today it started stalling on deceleration cold.

I can rev it in the driveway and watch the tach drop below 500 RPM and it either recovers or stalls. Making me think the governor is binding closed? It will restart immediately.

I am 100% sure it isn't the PMD! ):h

I am looking at taking it to a dealer or diesel shop. Ideas as to what to expect?

Common problem. Not so bad on an auto truck, but a standard it gets annoying.

As mentioned check OPS/LP, if not, put some good fuel conditioner in there to clean the IP. Old 92 has done this off and on for the last 200k miles, either needed a lift pump or a dash of lucas in the fuel.

do you have a way to monitor fuel pressure as you are driving particuallry if you can do it at wide open throttle you should see at least 2psi.

does the stalling start immediatly or do you have to drive a distance before it starts up.

does or is your fuel cap say DIESEL fuel, when you open your fuel tank cap do you get a woosh of air going in. your description of problem all go to a fueling problem. try running the truck with the fuel cap almost off.

i know it is frustrating but lets get your problem fixed.

i just read your other post.
when did the problem occur.
is it possible your fuel return line is pinch'd.
have your checked the sock in the tank.
i know that i am asking a lot of questions but it helps form a better idea of the problem.

Diesel labeled fuel cap normal hiss. Stall is any rev up and throttle release. Just started to full operating temp. Stall started a day after fuel filter change.

Fuel filter was changed and backup screen checked for the miss problem.

I have it at a diesel shop for a diagnosis now. I simply don't have the tools for timing it etc.

Governor or metering valve hanging up in the IP. Suggested turn up the idle or replace IP.

Vibration from bad injectors.

is it possible that trash got from the filter into the ip then injectors?
are they going to replace injectors and aprox how many miles are on them.
wes

Backup screen is in place on the filter. 125K on the clock and it has a 5th wheel trailer type tailgate and hitch rails in the bed. Also trans temp gauge.

I think they are the originals. So I assume they are just burnt up from working hard, towing.

OPS was bad when I got it so it may have hurt the IP - unk how long it was bad.
