I was towing my TT on a trip from Baton Rouge to Dallas @ about 60 mph when the cruise control kicked out and I realized the TCC was no longer locked.....gotta be related to each other. The cruise will usually still work in 3rd but when i shift to 4th, it kicks out in about 15 seconds. Otherwise tranny is shifting fine. What should I look for? BTW its a 4l80e

Scan for codes. Probably find code 41 brake light switch. May need a scanner to see historic. I found mine with GMTDScan. If it's your problem buyu the clip that holds it as well as a new switch. Trust me, you'll break the old clip.

ok got the codes.....39 TCC stuck off and 68 Trans component slip.....any help?

Yeah - that rules out the brake switch. Too bad - that would have been an easy fix. Having trans components slipping, or TCC solenoid stuck would seem to indicate tranny issues...

Hang tight - maybe one of the 4L80e gurus around here can help - that one is over my pay grade.

You may not feel it but the code can tell what you can't. The cruise will stop working when there is any code. Try clearing them and see if they come back.

CTS is known to knock out TCC lock.........When I unplug mine I don't get lock up, but I never checked cruise.

CTS is right on the top.....in the coolant crossover.

If U wuz close over to my way I had a good tranny guy for you to hook up with, I don't know no tranny folks in Dallas, that said it comes to mind you mite want to call Suncoast Transmissions in Milton, Fl. they are pretty good with all transmission flavors for some ideas.
