Hey there, new to the site.
Installed a brake controller on my 95' 6.5 today. Took a lot longer trying to locate brake switch wire but whatever got it all in. After that found out i killed the batteries so i keep two vechiles hooked up to give the batteries some juice and it wont get going. I dont know for sure but just seems like it wont kick over. Any thoughts?

I put a new PMD in it a few weeks ago so i know its not that.

Welcome to the site! :welcome2:
Have you checked the batteries to be sure that they are OK? Please take the time to fill out your signature with all of the information to your truck. It helps members give better information as to your personal vehicle and any mods that you may have done to it. I would check the juice in the batteries first before you go on any further.

What kind of vehicle you hook into the the truck?

Not too many vehicle can jump this truck and if you do, it may run the chance of ruining parts in there.

x2 for the battery test.
Take off the batteries and do a load test on them one at at time.
If you don't have load tester, bring them to part store.

Yeah they are new batteries this year and i have two other trucks hooked up. one to each battery. kind of confused on this one as it ran perfect this morning...

You may have fried something? isint hooking two trucks up like hitting it with 24 Volts? Maybe not could still be just 12volts, cant think now. "Help I've fallen and I cant shut up"

No i should be able to hook up as many vehicles as needed. There all 12v systems right so the voltage will never change

Charge the batts, load test them, clean the batt conections and give it another try.
I would also recheck what you did when installing the brake controller, maybe you installed it wrong or pulled a wire loose somewere.
And check all fuses,it's easy enough to blow a fuse when inadvertently shorting a wire with the batts still hooked up.

Hey all so updating on this. Batteries have been charged and tested along with all fuses. I was thinking it might be not getting fuel but im getting fuel coming out of the check valve at motor. Still trying to figure out whats causeing my no start...

So to back track a little: Your truck ran fine prior to installing the brake controller? If that was the case, retrace your steps as to what you did, and check things over with the wiring and anything that you may have touched or been near. Maybe go and disconnect the brake controller and button everything up and see if it starts. Check your ground wires. Check for shorts.

Does the truck turn over at all? Just trying to get as much information as possible so as to diagnose the issue. If your getting fuel, it must be something electrical.

Yeah those were my thoughts exactly. I disconnected the controller right after i was getting the no start thinking it may have been wired wrong. And yup its turns over nice and fast just never get that kick when its trying to start. Ive been going over everything i touched when i did the install of the controller and im not finding any splits or screw ups.

Do you have power to the fsos (fuel shut of sol.)? Check the fuse, and shine up the fuse spades. The fuse is in the engine bay fuse block.

So can you start after disconnecting the brake controller?

If yes, then whatever you did when installing the brake controller cause the problem.

i disconnected brake control already and put all the wires back to stock, so unless it fryed something it shouldnd be causeing any problems.
