Can the PMD just quit or is it more likely to be flaky before a failure?

It was very cold here when the truck was started and left 5minutes to warm up and stalled, seemed possible that the fuel gelled (that cold) since then the temp has come up and close to freezing and it just turns over.
No have done an exhaustive check, was just wondering about the PMD (which in this case is still on the pump).

Thoughts.

With a large swing in temp, or thermal cycle, an electrical component could have fractured inside the PMD. Thats why people in cold weather areas have failing PMDs more often, not because they get too hot, just that the great change from -30C to 100C.

Also check ECM and fuel solenoid fuses.
