Hi Guys (and girls ),

I'm a bit lost:

I and a mechanic rerceived one of our beloved 6.5. It' a 1995 S engine which was experiencing erratic stalling.

I thought myself, mmm, another PMD story...

Looking closer, I saw the PMD was already relocated behind the grill, it's a Stanadyne, 2 years old from new.

We found there was a kind of lack of oil in the engine, and had to add about3.5 liters of fresh oil to get some on the oil stick I wonder how the engine didn't seized...

I thought : oil pressure switch. => We put a new ACDelco OPS, check :

. oil,
. fuel pump and put a new fuel filter,
. grounds,
. get rid of the RF filter on the optic sensor harness

She started at first crank, ran strong during the 1/2 an hour road test.

We called the owner, explained him that he should, time to time, check oil level. He cionfess he didn't check anything till he owns the truck (about 3 months), and, I'm not sure, but I believe he was poking at fub when he asked "where do pour in oil?" :skep:

That being said, he sat in the truck, crank and start... then dies. She did that 4 times, crank-start and die...and now she absolutely refused to start...

We found no fuel is coming at the injectors. So we tried :

. 2 brand new PMDs with new harness or connected at stock plug;
. hotwire the lift pump
. Brand new ACDelco CPS,
. new fuel shut off solenoid, and check its fuse
. disconnect plug to optic sensor to initiate limp mode
. disconnect CTS on T-stat housing
. batteries are new and starter pushes strong.

Result is plenty of fuel at the bleeding T-valve, not a drop at injectors... and no start...:???::???::???:

Any thought?

You might want to try removing the plunger on the fuel shut off solenoid. Only a guess:???: but possible and free. At least you would know it isn't the problem if it doesn't help.

Try to eliminate the PMD extension cable and hook the PMD directly. Just to be sure it is not something easy like PMD extension cable going bad before going too deep.

I would check the FSOL fuse. And all other fuses, even the big ones

Then if all is well, you can check to make sure the wires didnt break off in the rubber boot to the fuel solenoid, by checking the resistance between PMD harness pin B and the top of the IP (ground), and should only have 0.4 ohms.
Then you can eliminate all of the electronics up to the IP by plugging all of it in, and probing through the wire on pin B of the PMD, which sends the power to the fuel solenoid to squirt fuel. You should see at least 1.2VAC while cranking.

I did hook directly the new PMDs with no luck.

The scanner shows no DTCs, all fuses are fine.

Resistance between pinB and ground on top of IP is 0.5 ohms

About voltage in the harness, while cranking, I found +0.52 volts at pinB and +0.55volts at pin F, less than half of what requested...

I start to suspect armature in the IP...

When checking the voltage was that set to VAC? Or VDC? If you are only getting .5 VAC then you have an electronics problem, that it is not delivering the correct fuel injection signal. Check the harnesses for the PMD, make sure there are no bent pins or messed up sockets on any of the connectors in that system.
