So I just did the water pump before that it ran great well I gunned it and it accelerates but then feels like it's not going anywhere fast. When I would normally gun it when I was going about 25 turbo would spool I would get a black cloud for a second but it would pull hard. It almost like the trans isn't locking when I mash it at wot I checked my trans fluid today warm in neutral it was good. It's just not pulling hard or even smoking or sounding throaty at wot.

I would double-check anything you touched or were near when doing the water pump replacement. After I did top-end work on mine I thought I had a fuel line problem soon after, but I had just neglected to put a clamp on a fuel return hose. Hopefully you find something simple that is not the way it was before.

No its anything over 2500 rpm soon as I hit 2500 rpm it starts surging and and surging then finally goes past 2500 and shifts. It's only when under load it does this I can sit in park and free rev to 2500 past but when I'm driving when I hit 2500 it surges.

Ok well I opened my glove box wiggled the pcm wires and plugged and unplugged the pmd and took the gas cap off and put it back on took my dad for a ride and the truck ran like a bat out of hell I would hit the gas acceleration was amazing truck ran awesome I'm baffled.

Hmmmm...maybe you bumped the PMD cable when you worked on the water pumpand it came a little loose? Or maybe you have a PMD cable going bad and it's tempermental? Intermittent problems are so much fun to diagnose. I'm glad it's working well for you now, and hope it stays that way. Where did you get the PMD relocation? Recently FellowTraveler had a PMD problem that ended up being a cheap/inferior cable going bad. A quality cable from Leroy would be good insurance.

I have a good standyne cable and a Dorman one I don't know where it came from I think it came from a regular auto part store I think it's a Dorman Pmd kit from advanced auto or something. It has the Dorman logo on the pmd if I remember correctly.
