On my white truck last year it started having some starting problems that seemed to get worse. Sometimes it would start, die and take alot of cranking to start it. Or it would just take alot of cranking. It was parked all winter and today I started working on it. I wired up the lift pump to run and its running but when I open the little valve on top of the filter nothing comes out.

What should I check, is it possible something in the pump broke to where it cant move fuel? Another thought was maybe there is a leak between the LP and the tank so it cant get suction.

The valves stick or dissolve in the factory lift pumps. Rattle away without pumping anything. They get ruined faster with any Biodiesel use. I recommend a Walbro FB5 over the factory lift pumps as the factory stuff (or parts clones) have an expected life of 1 year or less.

I pulled the line off the front of the pump and ran it and nothing came out. I put in 5gal of fuel and some started comming out. The gauge showed I had 3/8 of a tank. Ill try to start it tomorrow and see if the problem comes back. Maybe my gauge isnt working right and it was low on fuel.
