I have no idea what I am doing. So I will just let it ripp.
I am located in middle Tenn. I am interested in fuel mpg, l am presently working on my project truck, for the last 10 years. 1994 chev 1 ton dually. 6.2 block bored to 19-1
the rest is 6.5 about 270 hp, at 55 I get 20mpg, and still have some improvement to go, but am low on funds these days. Plan on pulling a fifth wheel, as soon as funding is available.
KEEP IT SIMPLE

Thanks for comin Bill. We have a good 6.5 gathering here....I'm sure most if not all of them can help you out.

Hi bill,
I see you found your way here. 20mpg isn't too bad for a dually with 270hp. Do you have 4.10 geared rear axel? 3.70 gears may help your mileage. You will loose a little pulling power though. Taller tires is a cheaper way to up gearing. I'm shure the rest of the people here will have suggestions also. Just for a comparison my dad had a 95 dodge cummins automatic with 4.10 and got 20-22 empty, 14-16 pulling 14,000lb travel trailer. Barry
