They totaled my 1993 after it took out 2 Elk. I started the engine after cutting the fan belt off and other than the oil cooler puking everywhere it was fine.

So looking for a replacement I found a 1993 6.5 at a pawn shop for $2500 OBO. Chevy 3/4 Ton Diesel Long Bed 4x4 170K and rough body, stolen batteries with cut cables, tires hold air only, and rough interior. Rock guard missing under the converter and trans pan painted yellow. Glow plug bypass switch in cab. Needs paint - BAD.

I asked them what they had to have and they let it go for $1500.

I will take the good parts from my totaled truck for it. Starting with the entire bed and both doors. Then we will see what else it needs. I will have to get a new fan clutch as the shaft on my totaled truck is bent! :nonod:

Erom the pics, I wouldn't call that body rough. Up here in the rust belt that is as clean as it comes. Not being able to hear it run makes it a bit of a gamble. Or it could end up being a great deal. Good luck.

I have a complete power train in my totaled truck. Really don't care if it runs or not... Just more time swapping stuff if it doesn't.

$1500 is a deal. What color interior. I have a thing for the 93 trucks, I want another one. Im looking for a Burb with red interior.

Gray insides just like my other truck so swapping parts will match.

Yikes!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I suppose....

Good luck with the rebuild!

That is what it took to fill the fuel tanks - 84 gal. 2 cards and 4 swipes at $5.00 a gal with the moronic $50.00 limit some stations have. Can't use the same card more than 2x as well at a station. :nonod:

I get the old truck back for around $650. Someone took all the fuel out of it so I am working that angle now. At least $150.00- $200.00 of Diesel gone. In a couple yards that charge to store a vehicle isn't going to fly.

Yeah the $1500.00 truck is rough, but, with parts from my other one and a paint job will be fairly nice and cheap to fix vs. a Duramax. Won't have the power or economy of one (towing) but I will have the title free and clear.

It was in response to the The Duramax guy that came in and ragged on your ride:nono:

Duramax guy?

I'll take that as a compliment I suppose....):h

Not ragging on his ride....just the amount he paid for it....

Different prices in different areas I suppose...that is about a $600 truck up here....

Lol Chris, I always bust your balls when you drop 'down' to the 6.5 forums :) Jealousy perhaps, but I'll never admit to it!!!!:D
