Well, some friends and I went out wheelin' New Years day to Tahuya state forest. The Tan 'Yota is Adams and was towed with a 98 RCLB 2500 Cummins. The Black 'Yota is Matt's and was towed with a 05 CCLB 3500 SRW Cummins.

Brandon (07HDClassic) met up with us later in the day, and played around in his Silverado which was quite fun, considering the trails are quite tight in a few places. Not too many pictures, as it was raining pretty hard and we stayed in the rigs quite a bit of the time.

It was a fun day except for the rain coming down. Matt broke a burfield in his 'Yota just towards the end of the day. I had no problems but did come rather close to loosing a bedside after sliding sideways on a rootball. This was the first time out with the NV4500 trans and I can say the super low range was great for this slow moving stuff. I didn't try the rock pile since we spent about 2 hours with Matt's 'Yota on the pile, which kept getting hung up on one rock. We were about tired of standing in the rain at that point and were soaked, so heat sounded nice.

And the "Other misc". So my back window has been leaking and has become much more prominent after being back in Western Washington where the precipitation is actually liquid. A buddy of mine came and pulled the window and I proceeded to pull the seats and carpet to dry things out. The insulation was soaked.... like dripping wet. So she's in the garage down for the count.

The replacement window - swapping the solid glass for a slider. I tinted the already 20% glass with another layer of 20% film.

So today I'm driving Mom's Mini Cooper. I really realized how much safer a truck is on the freeway in traffic - not only do I avoid so much more water spray, but I can see when people ahead are stopping.

Yeah, the Mini. It's kinda fun in some ways, but I'd rather drive the truck.

And I wish you were here for the trip, it would have been quite fun.

Looks like a blast! Thanks for the pics David

Not a problem Justin. I have more for ya!

So, my project escalated. What turned into a window replacement has quickly become more. So, after getting this sucker in, I realized how nice the new 5% tinted window looks. My old tint was faded, badly and needed replaced (however I was going to wait till spring) but decided to tackle it now.

What the tint was like before :puke:

So, the door came apart and the window out. I brought them into the house and got the old stuff off, prepped and put a nice new layer of 20% down on them. Much better!

So with the doors gutted I decided it was also time for new door pins and bushings, another badly needed maintenance item. They were much easier this time with the doors disemboweled.

I also cleaned the door jambs, hinges and inner door, regulators and backsides of the doorpanels.

Tonight this thing will get put back together, unless I try to tackle something else

Oh yeah, I found these picts today, you guys haven't seen this stuff. This is my completely re-worked hitch. Since the lift, the shackle flip screwed up routing exhaust anywhere except back. As most of you know, the hitches on GMT400 trucks hang down quite a bit, due to the spare tire. With it gone, the hitch bar was able to be moved back and up behind the bumper. This allowed for the exhaust to be ran out the corners how I wanted it.

I also got a 10" rapidhitch. I'm not the biggest fan of them, however I got it for a steal ($70 new) and it's one of the only large drops that has a 10,000 lb. GTWR and 1,500 lb. tongue weight, where other steel drops this large can only handle 5,000 lb. GTWR and 500 lb. tongue weight. Not that I'm really towing 10k, but the extra weight rating isn't a bad thing. It's also very convenient to have both a 2" and 2 5/16" hitchball on hand.

Very nice! you do more work in a day then I do in 2 years :D

I wish there were a few pics of my silverado out at Tahuya... It was like driving a bus through a trail that was for a toyota, but I made it through just fine. I had to make a couple 5 and 7 point turns but I did great. I told the guys that I wanted to make it through with no dents and I still wanted the glass in my canopy at the end of the day!

Yeah, pictures weren't plentiful that day. Too much rain as you know.

Next time we'll get some of the green tank.
