Just replaced my vacuum pump but I still have code 32 & 33.
At idle there is no check engine light until you put it in gear with brakes on, put in park light goes off. While driving the light is also on.
Before I replaced the pump the light would come on when slowing down to a corner pull away light went out. Also, I could move the W/G rod when idling.
But now at idle I can not move the W/G rod and there is no smoke when I floor it.
I pulled the vacuum line at the map sensor, there was no vacuum until I tapped the middle solenoid (egr) then i had vacuum plug it in and pulled it off no vacuum.
Any ideas? I know I have vacuum because my W/G is holding? I will check vacuum with a gauge tomorrow.
Also, what happens if the pump outlet is totally blocked off ? Will it stop pumping(destroke mode )?
Thanks
Paul.

What are the details of the truck itself? (year, etc).

Code 32 & 33 indicate that the truck is an OBDI system and the codes mean:
DTC 32 - EGR Circuit Error
DTC 33 - EGR Control Pressure/Baro Sensor Circuit High

Given 32 & 33 relate to EGR, not convinced the vacuum system is a culprit at this point (am sure that the better experts will correct me if appropriate).

Probably too late at this point, but consider returning the vacuum pump, get a shorter belt, install a turbo master, and get a tune to eliminate the vacuum presence from the electronics.

I did look into the vacuum pump delete, but I wanted to keep it original and did not want to mess with boost gauge, fuel mileage, etc.
Living in Canada, shipping parts across the border can be costly with dollar exchange, duty charges brokerage fees, etc. The vacuum pump & pulley replacement (ac delco)was more economical for me. I want my truck to be user friendly.(wife & kid drivers). My truck performs well and gets great fuel mileage especially now I have full vacuum to the to w/g.I am going to do some testing tonight and I will keep you updated.
Cheers.
