New truck (to me) gear/road noise at 80 km/h

I just recently got a 96 k2500 and it seems to have a bit of a noise (howl) going through 80-85 then its gone. Anyone else experience this? I have low gears for towing on the rear end (4:10). I dont have any metal in the gear oil so im wondering if this is just tire or gear noise. Since the truck is new to me i thought id ask round before i went any further
