Just picked up a new project/toy....1977 CJ5 with a 304 V8....guy i bought it from had upgraded all the plug wires to msd and it has a HEI distributor new edelbrock carb w/ electric choke. it has some rotten sections on the under-belly and under side of the rear fenders...but nothing that a little undercoating and patching can't fix. Its sitting on fairly new 33" BFG MT's it came with a full soft top with soft doors and a bikini top....exterior is just about ready for prime and paint as it sits....so stay tuned for updates

or you could just buy a fiberglass body tub fenders and hood in white gelcoat and be done with it... ;)

fiberglass is not as forgiving when it comes to rubbing on rocks and trees.....besides as it sits I only have 1800 bucks into it no need for the aded cost of a fiberglass tub, I only wanna use it to drive around town in the summer and do a little wheeling now and then....only needs to look good from 20 feet away

thats why you make rock bars...

these projects always start simple(look good from 20 ft away) an before you know it lots of body work and paint later and you could have had a tub and everything else...

Nice find. Swap out the AMC 20 rear for a Dana-44 and save yourself alot of headaches. That 304 is a tough engine. A buddy had one with a fiberglass tub and it would move!! He also had a 1986 CJ-7 with a built 360 and that thing would rip the tires right off it. It went very well in the woods too.
