I've been planning for years now that now that I'm going to buy myself a fifth Wheel toy Hauler RV and use it for full time RV'ing. Jackson has quite a few beautiful RV campgrounds around here.

But, it seems like our favorite local government a'holes have out done themselves gain. Jackson just passed a law that makes permanent residence in an RV park illegal. Actually, you can't stay longer than 2 weeks in the same park.

It really ticked me off cause its a dream I've had for a long time. And my truck makes it all that more possible. I'm wanting to do something about it. So I'm curious on you guys' thoughts on this subject.

I already have plans to go to the municipal building and see who I get to have a word with. I just don't think its right. We have a thousand different things going wrong over here. The economy in Jersey sucks, jobs are getting fewer and fewer weakly, places are closing down, homes being foreclosed and people being kicked to the street. And then our local government does this?

Buy yourself a quarter acre lot, put in septic, power and water and make that your "permanent parking spot." Then you can travel all you want, and keep the "home spot" as your home of record. Choose a no-state-tax state like Tennessee and keep your truck and trailer tagged and registered in that "free state" and F Jersey.

hahaha I've been saying F Jersey for a long time now. Though I do like the idea, there plenty of places that are going for sale land wise. I could defiantly look into it. Especially in other states as well.

Good suggestion

The reason for doing that is because the RV Parks send lots of kids to school and those families are not paying property taxes that pay for the schools. What do you expect from a town that will probably have had 3 mayors in a 1 year period. I've seen political towns, but Jackson takes the cake!

Which is a good reason why they need a different method of funding schools. Property taxes are unfair.
I've seen to many people have to sell their ground because they couldn't afford the taxes. It sucks to retire in Illinois. The first thing you have to do is sell your house. Unless you have an extra $3000 a year for taxes.

I wish 3K was all I would have to pay for taxes, double that and you will see what I pay. I won't be able to retire in this state. There are no trailer parks in my town, but we pay for all the illegals whose children go to our schools. Whether it is in local taxes or Federal taxes, the money for school is going to come from one tax or another.

It most certainly does. Jersey gets taxed for EVERYTHING. Countries highest taxes(probably worlds highest), and we are, If I remember right, the most broke state in the US. And it doesn't seem to be getting better in any way.

Where in Forked River are you from? I use to pass by there daily when I worked on LBI coming from Jackson.

I'm east of Rt. 9 near Shop Rite, I have fresh water lake in my backyard that turns into salt water when it gets across the road and enters Stouts Creek.
Where in Jackson are you ? I work at the MUA on Manhattan Street.
Did you happen to be at 527 and Hope Chapel on Friday around 5:15? I was waiting to turn onto 527 east at Bil-Jims and saw a nice truck that looked like the one in you avatar.

If you know where 6 Flags is my house is 5 minutes from there. I'm all over the place and Rt 9 is a pretty frequent sport for me because of places like Pep boys and Lowes. So I might have been.

Easiest way to find my truck is look for a big obvious Front axle as compared to the IFS on all the other GM trucks :D And right now the back is sagging a good 6" lower than the front while I'm waiting on my new leaf springs from Alcan.

I go up to G.A. all the time. We run their water and sewer plant for them. Over the winter I've been to the water plant at least once a week, and try to stay away from the place in the summer. Still a lot of property at that end of town. If K Hov. ever builds all those houses out there, we are going to connect that end of town with city water. Your in a 208 area which means you will never see sewer.

Thats ok. My development is such a bunch of hard-heads on having well water and septic. I don't think you guys would have very much luck without one really big fight. Kind of like the one that happened on Butterfly road a few years back if you recal that one. Those folks where pissed:mad2:

Their starting to build more new homes on butterfly. I was by there last week and looks like 6 new homes going in. They are selling for $200,000 less than before the crash. Usually if a development is already built and the builder didn't put in dry water mains, they will never get them because it is so expensive to rip up a road and put the lines in. This year our goal is to run a water line from Grand Blvd and connect the Legler system at Miller Ave. In the future we will run water from Diamond Rd and County Line up to the Goetz and Elm schools and across Anderson Road and into the back of G.A. on Perrineville Rd.

Running the water line on Diamond and county line will be great for the schools, especially Elm and Goetz, but there will most certainly be a few people up in arms about it(there always are). Personally, I like my well water. I've never really liked the taste of city water. Though I can't say the same for the septic field that needs work :mad2:

They have that development they where putting up that sits between Bowman and Butterfly. Where those people claimed to have found a dead snake. You remember that story? That place doesn't seem to have made any progress at all. 3 years now I've been passing that place and there seems to be no more progress one week than there was the week prior.

Yes, the place with the dead snake that they imported. They started new homes in there, I think it will give them a total of 10. Elm and Goetz schools need the city water, the quality of their water passes the EPA standards but it could be better. One good that about Jackson is that the only way you would be made to connect to city water would be if your well failed and you had city water going by your properity. I've never seen them force someone to hook up.

Esp, not worth a crap when you send your kids to a private school. I did not get Jack Shite back for my tax $$.:mad2:
