I know this is mostly a drivetrain issue. If it needs moved, mods please do so. Also, sorry if this is dumb question. A friend gave me a 14 bolt FF rear. Drum to drum with 373 gears. It was rebuilt about a year ago. I got it when he totaled his truck:sad: I want to put it on my half ton. I know I need to change the front gears as well. My questions:

Can I run 6bolt axles/hubs with the FF rear?

If not what do I need to change the front hubs only Or brakes, knuckles, axles?

Do I need to modify the computer?

Is this even worth it?

I did do some searching but I'm I bit lost. I've not done alot of work with chasis.

Thanks

Yes you can use it but there are things you need to spend $$ on. What gears are in your truck now?
You can buy 6 lug hubs for the ff axle but they are not cheap. The other issue is the wheels. The center hub opening on your wheels may not fit over the 14b hub.

Start looking at the wrecking yards for a 3.73 front for your truck.

I had planned to do so or swap the gears if I did use the FF rear. It sounds like it would be better to use the 8 bolt axles with the FF. How much do I need to change in the front. It would be kind of odd to have 8 bolt rear and 6 bolt front. Do I need to change computer or reflash.

Swapping out the front for the 8 lug setup is not worth doing and is a lot of work.
