New Product? Exhaust bypass dumper

With that and his 80 hp chip you could easily make 300hp at the wheels. Maybe closer to 350.

That looks remarkably similar to Diesel Pro's S.E.D. (Smoke Extruder Device) somebody with PM ability at old site may want to PM DP to see if he's been working with Walt on this, or if Walt took it upon himself to copy it.

You lose PM ability at old site Tim? Were you being a bad boy?:D

Nah, got a new computer, lost the password that was stored in the old one, and never requested to have it restored, I've left nothing behind at that site I needed to comment on. Shucks I don't hardly have time to get on here much anymore, much less try to keep up with the other site's happenings.

From what I hear you aint missin nothin over there anyhow! ):h

these are common in the f-body world. I run a McCord power plate on mine. McCord sells the plate, wiring, and switch for $130. You then just buy the actual cutout through summit or someone for ~$30. It's the best mod I've done on my f-body. Nothing like sitting at a light and having some 4 banger rev at you and reaching down and opening that cutout up and letting them have it. :D
I've ran it at the track with the cutout open and closed and there really isn't much difference performance wise but that's through a N/A car......a turbo might respond better.

One DP had rigged up operated off of boost when enabled boost above X opened up the SED, didn't so much as add performance, but it sure made for a fun ride, I got to ride in the truck he put it in it was a DMAX with a medium tune in it, definately turned heads when it opened up.

But he says "amazing increase in power and mileage". So it must be true! Maybe I don't understand my turbodiesel engine technology, but after nine years reading about it online, I had come to the conclusion that turbodiesels do not require backpressure. So I am unable to comprehend where the amazing performance gain comes from. If you had a stock plugged up soot trap, it would definitely feel like you got some power, but it would be restored power, as opposed to an actual power gain. And if that were the case you could spend your money better by installing a performance exhaust and losing the cat. Wait, he says it's for his performance exhaust...how is it going to give more power than a 4 inch exhaust?
All you really would be doing is opening yourself up to exhaust leaks, because cutouts never last, and that's just aluminized pipe, not stainless or iron. You also open yourself up to legal trouble if you use it on the road. It's not only illegal for road use because of the noise, but because of dumping the exhaust under the passenger compartment. Can you say carbon monoxide?
I think I'll email him to ask where exactly the power gain is going to come from.

I think it would be nice at times to 'Goose' people or situations WIDE ASS OPEN Exhaust...

I have better things to spend money on, but it sounds like fun.

Deputy Dan, The turbo itself gives the engine backpressure.

I wonder how much horse power a SS Diesel sticker gives you?

through exclusive knowledge of secret SS Diesel testing grounds, I will leak the info: 5.85 HP and 12.22 ft pound increase, as tested on a 92 C2500HD 4x4, with the 80 hp chip installed.):h:D:rolleyes5:

but in all seriousness, I agree, not Stainless or iron, so im not buying. doesnt look like somethink to spend money on.
