I upgraded the OEM low beam bulbs, very pleased with the outcome.

Silver Star Ultra / Headlight replacement bulbs. They cost about 50 bucs for 2 but they were worth it.

I was having trouble seeing at night with the OEM bulbs.

If I posted this in the wrong place, sorry.

^ I use to run the Silver star ultras all the time as well. I like the whiter, brighter light as well. Then before I installed my HID light kit in the 2006 GSXR i bought these:

I was sold. These are priced really well. Haven't burnt out yet in my Honda Civic and been in there for over 3 years. A lot of my friends now run them in their motorcycles. Can get the Cosmo Blues that are a little bit bluer. Wife even prefers these over the Silverstars. She is waiting for me to update the Yukon with both the Hi and Low beam bulbs.

Have you thought about upgrading your headlight wiring harness? I did on my Ford and it made a friggen incredible difference. I know those seem to be very popular for the older generation trucks as well.

Silverstars aren't too bad. They are pricey though. I went through several sets within 3 years on my last truck, my 04 GMC. They just didnt last for crap. I eventually upgraded to HID's and I couldn't be happier.

God i hate those ****** **** *** blue headlights!!! I got a set of Truck EFX lights with the oem bulbs and that made a world of diffrence. The stock lenses yellow and make it so that you cant even tell that you have your brights on.

^ I too hate those bulbs that the lenses have a blue tint to them. The Cosmo blues are just slightly bluer and the lenses are clear.

The super whites are just 4250 Kelvins and the the Cosmos are 4750 Kelvins. I will be using super whites on the Yukon.

I kept the OEM bulbs & will revert back if the new expensive ones chit the bed...& NO I never touch the filament(s) with my fingers, the oil from yr skin fudges em up.

Thanks again for the all the replies, suggestions & links, mucho appreciato!

I gave up on silverstars when I went through 2 sets in 3 months. Sylvania even states that they don't last as long as normal as they're high performance bulbs. BS IMO.

That is another reason I quit using Silverstars. Its like they run hotter and when installed into a projector beam type of lens, they get to hot and burn out. Haven't had any problems since I switched.
