Hi Everyone,
I'm from Elgin, Il about an hour west of Chicago..
I've got a 1988 Chevy crew cab with the 6.2 diesel,
the body is rusting away, but the engine and trans
just keep on going...

Welcome! My truck is losing a battle to rust currently. Bought it for 1k drove it for 5 years to current!
 
the pic is probably a few years old. mine needs some bodywork in a few major places. now all i need is a few extra grand and I'd be set.
