Hey ive been linked to this forum a ton of times from Google when i was searching for stuff so i figured i should join. I live in Tucson, AZ im a Firefighter/ EMT here for the city. I have a 1994 k2500 Suburban with a 6.5td (this is the truck that keeps getting me links to this forum lol). I love suburbans, ive had 3 of them a 95 k1500 with a 350tbi, a 92 k2500 with a 454tbi, and now a 94 k2500 with the 6.5td, so i know them pretty much inside and out. Im really into Overlanding and offroading which is what we use the Suburban for mainly.

heres a pic of my 94

Welcome! I would like to hear more about what you have done to prep it for the offroad adventures.

My truck has the barn doors, all the suburbans I've had have been the barn doors. The suburbans always a work in progress for our offloading trips. So far I only have the bumper I made that has a 12k winch and dually D2 LED driving lights. I made a roof rack that has my hi lift on it (Smittybuilt knock off right now lol). Then just have some bilstein shocks and the rough stuff specialties rear diff cover for the 14 bolt. I have a good amount of recovery gear since we almost always go on our own so we have to be able to recover ourselves if something happens. I have just a basic CB set up which hasn't done much, I'd like to upgrade to a HAM setup eventually. I made a dual battery setup on my last suburban with a solenoid isolator that i need to setup on this suburban. I have an iPad mounted with a bunch of navigation apps for all our mapping and backup paper maps. And just a basic inverter for a few outlets in the truck. Then we have a bunch of camping gear and misc. equipment stuff that we've collected over the years that we load up and take with us.

Welcome to TTS!
I suggest you head on over to the cooling section esp. out here. The nice bumper needs the nose holes for both changing the fuel filter foot holes and air flow for cooling. The IDI head design puts a severe load on the cooling system more so than any gas engine does.

Yea I know about the issues these 6.5s have with cooling. I was unsure I was even going to reuse my bumper because I built it when I had my suburban with the 45 and didn't have the holes or cooling. I haven't had any issues with it getting hot yet but if I start to notice something I'm just going to make a scoop under the bumper to direct air flow up and under the bumper to the same place the holes in the stock bumper directed air flow
