New Custom Bumper for 88-00 trucks

No nostrils. Looks like a gasser only bumper. Big lights would also block air flow to already marginal cooling system. And put money down on something that isn't even made yet? What happens if they don't find enough people to lay out their operating capital? No mention of price either. This may be a reputable company but 2 month wait and only possibility of production just doesn't sound good to me.

that bumper is not my bumper, it was just posted for an example.... mine will look better and fit better.... we always take cooling into accomodation when building them considering we are in AZ..... as for the $$$$ down thing, I wouldnt take any until I was ready to build it.... we aren't con artists here, just a company trying to bring bumpers to everyone who wants them.....

Edit.... I have had a few guys on other models use the inner light holes with some custom ducting behind for airflow on their Sled Pulling trucks, if it works for them, it will work for anyone

I'm not saying you are a con-man. A prototype drawing or a real prototype bumper with the air ducts would make it more sellable. The 6.5s don't have any over capacity in the cooling systems as alot of other diesels do. I have one that the previous owner put a gasser bumper on and it melted a valve. The air flow to the radiator is essential on these trucks.

Here is my bumper (on my truck) and there is a matching rear.

That's what we had. Where did you get it? Brand?

This is made by Ranch Hand in Texas. My buddy calls it the "Ranch-hand of God" because whenever there is a "situation", this bumper will take care of it. Best bumper ever in my opinion, bolted right on. Weighs about 150 pounds but does the job if you know what I mean ):h

Here is another look at it.

They May Be Stout For A Head On Impact But Suck For An Angled Impact... And Just Are Ugly... But Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder....

If Anyone Has Photoshop And Can Help Me Protoype This For As Close Of An Example, Please Call Me And We Can Work Something Out For An Extra Little Discount Or Something

I am currently looking at some upcoming mods on my truck and can't say that bumpers were on the list, however.... I find the geometry of these interesting. They look more aerodynamic than most, large animal hits would be more likely deflected, and I personally think they look good. My concerns would be weight (the 6.5's are front heavy anyway) and the previously mentioned airflow concern. It looks to me like the underside angles of the front bumper may be perfect for a scoop like mod that would force air up into the rad area and/or through a typical 6.5 intercooler. Then again, maybe a special vent for the FSD cooler?
You do nice work Bill...

save your IC $$$ and go with ATT, I did away with my IC, $$$ not spent on IC put to ATT & save on fuel and eventually ATT will pay for itself. As soon as I find them I'll send pics of the Buckstop I put on mine, has similar side protection as others out there.

Bill, I think your bumpers look good, personally.

Recommendations for a 6.5 bumper - KEEP THE NOSTRILS! That's our calling card. I would love to see a bumper with some fog light ports toward the bottom, in addition to NOSTRILS. :D

Yes, the ranch hand bumper that I have has the extra air holes in teh front, kinda look like fork lift pockets):h

I have to get one in here and start to play with it to make everything work, and flow with it properly....

any of you 6.5 or 6.2 guys here in AZ?

Tim,

That's HOT!!!

Thanks John, one feature I really like about it in addition to keeping "nose holes", is if one chooses; a option to mount winch inside it, or mount a winch to plate and plate slides in the 2" reciever, seems every time I've gotten stuck or needed to pull the winch always on wrong end of my truck, so now I'll be able to put winch on either end of the truck, going inside the bumper will be my Klein train horns, where the winch would go.

Absolutely! I was suggesting as there are a lot of I/Cs' out there. Still, a strategically placed "scoop" may effectively force some additional air flow.
