Well I bit the bullit and bought a new bike. I sold my Rhino a few months ago and have not replaced it with anything yet so I decided this weekend was as good as any.

Picked up an 07 Can-Am Outlander 650. It was a left over. Rode for 5 hours on Sat. This bike is nice. Much better than the other bikes I have ridden. Smooth suspension and great power. I have not ridden a bike with this much power since I sold my Banshee years ago.

I test rode the Honda's and these and liked the outlander better.

I need some opinions from you guys. The wheels are not included with the bike. They did not have a mechanic working on Sat. and I wanted the bike. I am supposed to take in on Mon. to have the stock wheels installed.
They offered me the wheels and tires for $460.00.
Would you keep them and pay the extra or just take the stock wheels?
The stock wheels are alloy and nice looking. Just not the bling and size of these.

Let me know what you think!

Take the stockers. I bought a complete wheel, tire, caps, and lugs on ebay for 550. And I got a choice of what I wanted to get

I think it looks great but I wouldnt pay that just yet for those wheels and tires if you're not gonna be really using it to justify the added meat of the rubber.

I looked at those Can Am's before I bought my Honda. The 800 was nice and its gotta have nuts. I thought it was very comfortable but now, I'm used to my Rincon.

The stock ones are nice on those too. Tires slightly less aggressive but not much. I would get those and then if you want to get others later you can get what you want.

My friend has an 800 he sold to himself. Pretty nice. They also sell hondas but he said after riding them both at work he got the can-am. More performance, but more likely to need the warranty. He got the programmer and exhaust and it just barely beats a kawasaki brute force 750 that has exhaust. It jumps off the line really hard, that's where it wins. The 750 is an 06, I want to see how the new fuel injected 750 does against it.

Thanks guys, I think I'm goining to get the stockers. I'm not mud bogging and probably don't need the added ground clearance for mountains. Plus the higher the more top heavy.

I thought about getting the 800 but I don't think I'll need an axtra 150CC for $2 grand.

I test rode the Rincon and it was a nice bike. I just wanted a bike with a low gear and Honda did not offer that except in the Rubicon and I owned one before. Honda makes great stuff and I was sure I was buying a Honda until I tested a Can-Am.

On edit: Since this machine came with a winch I now have a Warn 2500 complete for sale.

nice looking bike. i like the rims and tires but it is an atv so get ther stockers. you can use the money you saved to pay for part of a trip to go riding or somthing nice like that.

id keep those but i wouldnt give them that much for them, i mean theyre used! that and stockers are just so.....stock. haha, congrats and good luck with the can, i dont think anybody around me sells them as ive never seen one but they must be nice if they got you away from a Honda. i dont think i could ever be dragged off my Honda.

Foreman, I always thought the same thing about Honda. But after trying these out I was sold.
The tires and wheels are not used. They were new. They just put them on the bike to dress it up a little I guess.

Nice quad! I rode one and thought it was a little tough to steer though. It was at a huge atv event and I almost ran off the demo course they have! The power of those machines are amazing. A friend of mine can get them to do wheelies without a challenge.

I have a 03 Rubicon now and like it but it pretty much rides like a dump truck compared to the can-am and rincon. My friend had a rincon and the one thing I dontlike about it is it doesnt have a low gear like my Rubicon. Did you look at the grizzly? That might be my next choice :biggrin5:

Nice ATV. Now you are ready to burn up the Hatfield McCoy trails.......

Just waiting for my son to turn 16. We have alot of places to ride locally and lease 1500 acres for hunting with trails all over it.

I did not look at the Grizzly. I have never liked Yamaha's utlity atv's. Their sport bikes are nice. I think it's pretty easy to steer compared to some other models.
The Canam has variable rate springs so it soaks up the little bumps and can take some large ones with ease. It also does not have the squishy ride I felt on the Rincon.
I don't think the Rubicon has changed since it came out. I had an 02 and it was a great bike, no problems. I just liked this better initially. Time will tell

It also does not have the squishy ride I felt on the Rincon.

I actually dont like the squishy ride totally. Mine has a straight rear end not a independent rear. I rode my buddy's rincon and it felt like it was gonna go over when going up moderate hills. :frown5:

One thing I noticed about my Rincon is that its got a lot of body lean, even when cornering at a very slow speed. I dont have a problem with any terrain nor with power as I think its got plenty.

I would like to spend a day on a Grizzly though or a Can Am to see how they ride.

Ya my buddy has a rincon and thats kinda what I dont like about it compared to my Rubicon. The nice thing about some of the models like the Grizzly is they have adjustable shocks to make it stiffer!

I rode about 10 miles on saturday. I love this bike!
We rode in the mountains where we hunt. A lot of long steep pulls, washed out roads, rocky terrain. My back did not hurt like when on other bikes after riding.
One thing I will mention is how hot the engine gets, especially on my legs. I will wait for hunting season and see if the heat is more welcome then.

I kinda wish there was a temp gauge on these things...Especially since all of my riding is in 95 degree heat. I'd just like to know where its running at.

I agree. I find myself looking down at the display for it. I thought for sure the hot engine light was going to come on last Sat. but it never did.

How do you like Florida?

So far so good. Its warm and I love it but I'm not 100% set on this town that I'm in. I'm a minority where I'am. I'd like to move another couple hours south so we'll see what opens up for me. Thanks for asking.
