Net framework 2.0

i have a new application that won't open...

It says I need net framework 2.0...

I can't get it to install (I must already have it)...only gives me the option of repairing or uninstalling it...

I tried both ...no go...

netframe work 3.5 won't install either... wtf?


any suggestions?

So did you try to uninstall it then reinstall?

Will the app in question not work with other .net versions?

yes... tried uninstall through control panel add/remove...errors out...

opened up recent d/l of net 2.0 and ques repair or uninstall neither works...both error out...

tried net frame work 3.5...won't install...errors out... maybe I'll try 1.0 or 1.1 tomorrow am..I'm sure the result will be the same...

1.1 was working...bujt new app needs 2.0...that fix has 1.1 not working now...

I'm confused as all heck...I guess I need to step away and sleep on it...

Fixed...

I found a great net framework removal tool

had to run it twice for it to give me a successful removal message...but it did the trick...

2.0 up and running as well as the new app I needed it for...

What was the removal tool, for future reference? 99% of the time my problems are with that damned Java and all of it's updates as opposed to Microshaft's .NET Framework.
