I just bought a 93 chevy 6.5 td it needs a injector pump wont start when warm would appreciate any guidiance

yes if i cool the pump with a garden hose it starts right up

head/rotor issues, you can try some new generic brand SAE-30 non detergent engine oil or 2 cycle oil to your fuel for a little lube as a stop gap but looking like you need an IP with the cool water trick making it work; pensacola fuel injection seems to have lowest prices on remanned IPs

I will need an IP soon.
The guy will tell me tomorrow wether he wants a brand new one or a reman one.

Can you tell me more about the Pensacola boys and stuff ?

They sell on ebay Matuva.

I think TD had good things to say about them, not on the injectors they sell now however.

That is where I bought mine. You can buy them with or without PMD/FSD. Priced reasonable as well.

93. No PMD. He has a DB2. Pensacola has a website as well. A websearch will reveal it. You Ip Job will be a little different than INdyBecks. You have a DB2. No PMD. Basics still the same but they are timed slightly differently. Best I could tell you is scribe the location of the old one before removal and put the new one exactly in the same place. The tolerances ar pretty tight on the IP so it should be fine otherwise I have never done a DB2 on a 6.5 but have done them on 6.2s and either you have to use a Kent Moore pulse timing light or just time it by ear. Should sound a little marlbly. Every one I ever did on a 6.2 seemed to be happy about a matchbook covers width to the drivers side of the scribe line. I have no idea though what if any electronics involved in a 93. The shouldn't be any on the IP.

I was happy with them. Gave them a call, they were very friendly. About 3 days later I had the pump in hand. I've got about 8000 miles on pump, and it is running strong!
