Need a OPS that completes a ground when there is OP

hello does anyone know of an OPS (one wire would be best) that completes a circuit when there is OP?

I bought one for a 92 Toyoda Camry but it only completes the circuit when there is NO oil pressure which was my fear because then i can't wire the ground of my lift pump to the OPS.

I have the positive on an ignition circuit I just want to put a "Safety" in so it doesn't run when it's not needed.

Im not really interested in the 6/5 OPS because I have seen the inside of one and its not simple or reliable.

Well cub not sure of your goal or what config vehicle we are talking about (update signature please),

FWIW a OEM OPS works okay not best but can be improved upon, so what many of us have done to "ruggedize" the design is to use the output of the OPS to control a h/d relay, where the load of the control coil of the relay is in mA of current, then have the "h/d power leg" of the relay go to the lift pump, that way it lasts a long time and you still keep the intended safety feature of securing lift pump power in event of crash.

Ok see the vehicle stats in your avatar, we are used to seeing them in the signature line, you converting away from the mechanical lift pump the 6.2 in 82 has ??? Or do you have some other need of a OPS controlled safety circuit ???

I just go to Carquest and they pull out a book that lists them all with pictures and type. I know you can get a 2 wire version (the type I needed when I was there) and ground one side but I am sure there were one wire types too. I would think other auto parts stores would have similar books.

Sorry i never made my signature! I thought I had but I guess not. Yes it is for the 82 6.2L

As of right now the LP is supplied via power from ignition source and grounded on the fender. I basically want to "safety" my pump from running when the engine is not running. I wanted to do this via OPS that will simply ground the LP when there is oil pressure. I found a switch in the book at advance so whenever it arrives a quick ohm test will tell me if I struck "gold" or not

Im pretty sure you can use a relay to convert a positive to a ground. Someone smarter than me please inform us. Pretty sure stereo install shops do it all the time??

6.5 OPS will do you fine with a relay mod. However any gasser OPS will also do the same thing for fuel pump cut offs. Oh wait! The guts of ANY OPS is just as much junk as the 6.5 OPS is. They last longer as a fuel pump relay does the job for them unless the relay fails.

does anyone have a diagram of how the 6.5 one is set up?
The one wire OPS that was ordered in wasn't right so I was considering the 2 wire set up.

Someone said they had a 2 wire set up with a switch in the cab. How did you have it set up? basically I just need an OPS that closes a circuit when there is roughly 10 psi or more anyone have a part number?

Thanks for all the Ideas!

why I don't like the idea of the 6.5 switch: (although others may be just as bad)
