I am most likely picking up a 6.5 N/A out of a P series box truck sometime next week. The guy says it was rebuilt about 50k and 5yrs ago by a GM dealer while still under warranty. He said the slip shows that it was $11k in repairs.

This will be going into my 'burban. I plan on pulling the heads to put studs and thicker gaskets before I install it and new injectors also. Should I put my turbo heads on or is there no difference?

Is there annything I should also replace while its out? My IP only has 60k on it. Useing my 2 month old 60g glows. Should I replace the block heater? I am also gonna pull the oil pan and check the block and install a main gurdle while in there. Install a new water pump. Should I replace the timming chain or cahnge it to gears?

Is the NA mechanical inj? If so you'll need to change the front crank gear timing cover with CPS and harmonic balancer. Turbo heads probably have bigger precups if power is important. If it's cold where you live put in an extra block heater but they rarely go bad.

return goes to where the mech LP would be on 6.2s. I "Believe" the port for the oil feed is there on NA 6.5s. I know it's NOT on 6.2s but can be tee'd off the OPS. Not sure about IP's but would assume the NA IP would be different. Use everything off the truck you aree installing in and you should be golden
