I cut my Muffler and Soot trap off to replace with a 3" strait piece.

That thing looks clogged! ):h

How big of a difference do you notice with that thing off?

Holy cow. You've inspired me to punch out the soot trap on the '95. It's hard to imagine the engine was running well with it that clogged.

If I were you, I'd look closely at either an entire 4" exhaust, or if you can't afford that, get the Flowmaster downpipe and crossover kit (about $100-120). It made a big difference on the Tahoe. The 95-vintage rigs have horribly crushed downpipes. The 99 wasn't anywhere near as bad.

The Tahoe is finally breathing well now, although I am saving up for a 4" exhaust for both rigs.
