My AC stopped blowing cold air yesterday:(. The fan still works and the AC and recirc lites come on just no cold air. I have owned this truck a little less than one year. The ac has never been real cold and the compressor never sounded that healthy. Now you dont hear the compressor so I´m asuming that its the culprit? Are there any other weak links to this system that I should know about or other things to replace while I´m at it? Any compressors better than others? This is my first sub with rear air.
Thanks for any and all replys.

Roger that BT. Tommorrow I´ll go over to a friends that has the contraption for adding the refrigerant.

Well I guess I got alot to learn about AC. I recharged the system today and it took about 24 oz of 134 and it works again. Not very cold but like it was. I must have a leak somewhere. What can I do to make this thing run cold? Its tolerable now but I can see where this is going. I´d like to get it as cold as the Jetta. Anything I can do without taking to a shop?
Thanks again

Unfortunately, nothing unless you want to fix the whole system. I have recharge it with freon for 2 yrs or so until it does not cool anymore.
Last one, takes the most but no effect on the temperature. The AC system in the burb is notorious for giving up.
I bite the bullet a few years ago to fix it properly. Still good after 3 years. It is expensive but necessary.
It may be cheaper to fix it in Mexico, though, since labor is the majority of the cost. At least in the US.
If you want to fix it, do it now when you need it the most.
